Opel Corsa B 1993–2000 Service and Repair Manual: Carburettor - removal and refitting
Note: Refer to the warning note in Section 1 before proceeding.
Removal
1. Disconnect the battery earth lead.
2. Remove the air cleaner.
3. Disconnect the choke cable (manual choke models) or the automatic choke electrical and/or coolant connections. Plug the coolant hoses to avoid spillage.
4. Disconnect the fuel supply hose from the carburettor or vapour separator. Be prepared for fuel spillage. On carburettors with a fuel return hose attached, disconnect that too.
Plug the fuel hoses.
5. Disconnect the accelerator cable.
6. Disconnect the distributor vacuum hose.
7. Disconnect the idle cut-off solenoid wire (when fitted).
8. Disconnect any remaining hoses or wires, then remove the securing nuts and lift the carburettor off its studs. Recover the gasket.
Refitting
9. Refit in the reverse order to removal, noting the following.
- Use a new gasket if the old one was damaged.
- Adjust the accelerator cable and (when fitted) the choke cable.
- If coolant hoses were disturbed check the coolant level after running the engine and top-up if necessary.
- Adjust the idle speed and mixture.
